MAFS bride Bronte exposed for putting on a show at wedding, leaked texts

Married At First Sight bride Bronte Schofield has been outed for apparently being the mastermind behind the drama that’s engulfing her TV union.

The 28-year-old WA-based beauty educator ‘married’ 32-year-old builder Harrison Boon on the debut episode of MAFS on January 30, and their union was quickly engulfed by scandal.

One of Bronte’s wedding guests, her best friend Jessica Tomlinson, pulled the bride aside at the reception and told her Harrison had a girlfriend on the outside.

Bronte appeared blindsided by the revelation as it played out on camera, saying it was her “worst nightmare”. However, it has since emerged Bronte possibly knew about it all along.

In leaked text messages published by Daily Mail, Bronte can be seen writing to Jessica in the weeks before MAFS began filming, in which Jessica posted a photo of Harrison saying: “This guy is going on MAFS too! Maybe he is your husband.”

Bronte replied: “Stop it. HOW DO YOU KNOW HAHAHAH.”

In further messages, the friends exchanged voice notes with one another, in which Jessica warns Bronte that Harrison has a “21-year-old girlfriend”.

Jessica, a fellow reality star, had this intel after starring on this year’s The Bachelors, where she met fellow contestant Abby Miller – who is the 21-year-old in question.

“Well, you know what? If he is my match, I’m going to f***ing play that to my advantage,” Bronte is heard saying in response.

Bronte added: “[I’ll] just [be] like, ‘By the way, like I actually know why you’re here. Like, if you’re wanting to just play this on, that’s fine, we can just be friends, but for the cameras we can obviously put on a show.’

“If I do get this guy, I’m not going to be able to like him because I know what he’s like.”

Bronte bailed up Harrison with the allegations on their wedding day, in which Harrison argued he dated multiple women before appearing on the show, but was now wholly committed to her.

It comes after Bronte revealed at last night’s MAFSdinner party she was no longer friends with Jessica after she “created drama” at her TV wedding for “five minutes of fame”.

Speaking on Kyle and Jackie O this morning, Bronte confirmed it was her voice in the leaked audio, but claimed she “wasn’t involved in this group chat”, and that she was just “getting snippets”.

She also suggested a scorned Jessica is the one who leaked the messages.

Meanwhile, Harrison appeared on Nova’sFitzy & Wippa, where the co-hosts played audio from Bronte’s leaked conversation.

“That is massive,” Harrison said, hearing it for the first time.

“It was really difficult to hear that, like I’m really disappointed about that. That means that everything we saw at the wedding and last night [dinner party] was essentially fake, it was acting.”

Despite the damaging story for Bronte, it seems Harrison won’t remain in victim territory for long.

MAFS expert John Aiken revealed on The Chrissie Swan Show on Friday that Harrison’s upcoming antics will “beat” everything we’ve seen in a decade of the show.

“There’s been some rippers, [but] Harrison this year … I’m gonna say he is the most memorable that I can think of over the 10 years, and I can’t tell you why, but I can say he is an alpha personality, who is unapologetic and he will say and do things that you will be shocked by.”

Married At First Sight continues tonight at 7.30pm on Nine
