CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Construction has ramped up on this $1.7 million South End restaurant.
Hawkers Asian Street Fare says the goal is to open in time for Chinese New Year’s on Feb. 5. This marks the brand’s first restaurant outside of Florida.
“I hope we’ve cracked the code on how to grow without losing the soul — the heart of Hawkers,” says Kaleb Harrell, co-founder.
Hawkers — named for street-food stalls in Asia — dishes up made-from-scratch Asian street food and shareable plates. The restaurant’s design looks to transport guests to the streets of Asia.
During a tour on Tuesday, Harrell shared a sneak peek of the space and the vision for what’s to come.
